About Us
Hi, I’m Michelle! As a mother of two, I’ve always been passionate about supporting children as they grow, learn, and explore the world around them. I believe in the power of play - it’s how children make sense of the world and connect with others.
After years in the corporate world, I decided to follow my heart into early childhood education. I saw how much families in our community needed thoughtful, attentive childcare, and I wanted to help fill that gap by creating something warm and personal that truly feels like home.
At The Walnut House, my goal is to build a space where children feel safe, seen, and supported - like a second home. All educators here will share a love for play, connection, and helping each child grow in their own unique way.
Our Space
The Walnut House is a warm, home-based environment where children feel like they are part of a family. Our lovely heritage home is bright, spacious and full of charm. The name comes from the big walnut tree in our front yard, a symbol of growth and connection.
Inside, we have a designated bright play space where children have fun and learn through play. Outside, our large fenced-in yard encourages exploration and offers plenty of opportunities to connect with nature. We are also just steps from Lakeside Park, giving us even more chances to play and enjoy the outdoors!
